    VIDEO: Nas DUI

    Posted in: Gen. Ed

TMZ has all the footage, does anyone ever get fired for giving it out? Anyway, here is Mr. Jones DUI arrest back in September. The officer gives Nas a series of sobriety tests before being taken into custody. Nas said he was smoking weed 2 hours prior, the officer  then cited the Nasir’s “green tongue” as evidence of his marijuana use. The charges have been dismissed.

What’s up with the entire world quoting Jay-Z all the sudden? I have been bumping Jay-Z and deciphering his lyrics since 97′ (admittedly a little late) and never has one line ever been so scrutinized. It amazes me how many people really don’t listen to lyrics and how others will hear exactly what they want to hear. Everybody wants to throw out the now famous line “Hail Mary to the city your a Virgin, and Jesus can’t save you life starts when the church ends” and claim he’s a devil worshiper and he doesn’t believe in Jesus.

My question to those people is “do you fools listen to music, or do you just skim through it?” I pose this question to one and all people, I’ve debated this verse line with producers/engineers/and even A&R’s…by the way I won every argument! First this people do wrong is Fox News the entire verse and quote said line out of context.

    Lights is blinding,
    girls need blinders
so they can step out of bounds quick,
the side lines is blind with casualties,
who sip the lite casually, then gradually become worse,
    don’t bite the apple Eve,
caught up in the in crowd,
    now you’re in-style,
Anna the Wintour gets cold in Vogue with your skin out,
the city of sin is a pity on a whim.
good girls gone bad, the city’s filled with them,
Mommy took a bus trip and now she got her bust out,
everybody ride her, just like a bus route,
Hell Mary to the city your a virgin,
and Jesus can’t save your life starts when the church ends,
came here for school, graduated to the high life,
ball players, rap stars, addicted to the limelight,
MDMA got you feeling like a champion,
the city never sleeps better slip you a Ambien

For the lyrically challenged I will break down Mr. Double Entendre’s third and controversial verse line by line. Mr. Carter starts off by warning any new comers that the the lights are so blinding that they will need blinders. For those who think they can tippy toe in and out of the “game” Jay lets them know the sidelines are filled with casualties. See people often try to sip the “lite” beer casually, but it will soon become worse and leads them down a dark road.

Jay-Z then speaks of females going to New York for school and warms them about getting lost in city of sin “Don’t bite the apple Eve.” Oh and if your interested in a little Extra school-age to prove that Jigga is smarter, more connected and more diverse than all of his critics:

caught up in the in crowd, now you’re in-style, and in the winter gets cold en vogue with your skin out” actually says “Anna the Wintour gets cold en Vogue with your skin out”. Jay is referencing Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of American Vogue for over 20 years, leader of ‘the in crowd’ and largely believed to be THE most stylish person in America…..you’re still not hearing him!

S dot Carter then spits some of the realest shit, and that is what people are tripping over Jay says “hell Mary to the city your a virgin, Jesus can’t save your life starts when the church ends. How can Jesus save her, if her life starts when church ends? She chose that life, Jay warned her about it. This poor lost soul didn’t listen. She thought she could handle it, she came for school but became addicted to the limelight. (oh and MDMA is the medical abbreviation for Methylenedioxymethamphetamine or as its more commonly know Ecstasy)

She is now a victim of “The COOL” shout out to Lupe Fiasco, he wrote an entire album bases around this concept. Side bar, I’m not even going to get into the who Free Mason, Illuminati thing, I’ll leave that discussion up to someone else.

When I had to the pleasure to meet the creator of Don Diva Magazine and now senior editor of Hip Hop Weekly, I was intrigued by the mention of his new venture. Here is the intro from Cavario’s personal autobiography titled “Raised By Wolves..”

As a child in the constant presence of gangsters, I overheard a lot. I remember hearing it said that it’s better to be feared than to be loved. I remember gangsters who tried to live on love, and I remember that it almost always ended badly for them.

But then, many of the feared didn’t fair too well either…

I remember an afternoon in a Harlem classroom, long ago. After collecting a writing assignment from me, my first grade teacher, (whose name I no longer recall), said, “You write well Cavario. You could be a writer.” I remember sneering and remarking, “A writer? I’m gon’ be a gangster!”

I remember thinking that I had chosen the game, but I survived long enough to understand that the game had chosen me long before I even knew what choice was. Long before I understood that the choices we make sometimes lead to circumstances that leave no choices at all. Long before I knew the world was filled with infinite possibilities.

Bullshit yourself and the world will play along; we’re taught this long before we can identify our true selves. But even before that men-tal is uploaded into our psyches, we, as children, operate on simplistic interpretation. This is what makes us more likely to do what the adults in our lives do rather than what they say. My people never wanted me to be in the street, but everything in my home and everything in my community dictated otherwise.

And as psychologists will often argue whether nature or nurture is the cause of our behaviors, I’ve come to suspect that it’s a bit of both. If that’s so, then the likelihood of my becoming who and what I became was as sure as the earth on its axis. Although I ended up bringing something uniquely my own into existence, as I was nurtured in a setting replete with criminal inclination, I often too felt the influences of my parents’ innate make-up heavily affecting my actions.

This exposure hardened me and prepped me for what would become my future. Consciously I knew nothing of the interaction between my genes and my world but I held all of my elders in the highest regard. Theirs was a criminal dynasty, cold, mean, and unflinching, and they bared no weaknesses, or at least none that were visible to my young eyes.

Growing up in the seventies gave me the opportunity to witness the end of an era. It is a time that will never be repeated, a time through which I was afforded the knowledge of the unwritten handbook. The pictures on the pages of our invisible manual bore images of fierce flights and frivolous fancies, and I looked forward to growing up and taking my place in this gritty landscape.

Like most children I thought my home was indicative of all homes. I thought that everyone witnessed hundreds of thousands of dollars being counted by their parents on an almost daily basis. I thought everyone found hundred-round spitting, 45-caliber, Thompson sub-machine guns in their mother’s bedroom closet. Thus, by the age of nine, I truly believed that I was genetically engineered for the life of a gangster and at this point I have forgotten more about the ‘game of death’ than most have had the time or opportunity to learn before their time is up and their opportunities are no more.

    Who am I?

I am the son of my Harlem born, gangster-to-her-heart mother and the genetic product of my Harlem born, killer-without-a-heart father. I am the result of confusion and anger and the byproduct of deceit and greed

    I am 100% Guerilla Hustler.

Can’t say I couldn’t told him before hand. As much as I love Mike as a basketball player, I do not wish to meet him again. I remember I went to Micheal Jordan’s restrant on my 12th birthday and waited for him to walk out and asked for an autograph, lets just say the rumors are true…

    Lil Wayne and Family
I can’t even hate, NuNu and Nicki in the same year, not to mention a tour bus full of groupie love in every city, Lil Wanye is definitely building up his family portrait.

Lil Wayne recently confirmed in an interview with the BBC’s Tim Westwood that he and R&B singer Nivea are expecting a son.

If all goes well, the baby will be Lil Wayne’s third son to be born in just over a year. He and actress Lauren London welcomed a baby boy last month, and in October of last year, while accepting a BET Hip-Hop Award, Wayne announced to the crowd he was expecting his first son in a matter of days.

Wayne did not provide many details about the impending birth in the BBC interview.

“Two girls pregnant at the same time?” Westwood said. “Congratulations.”

Wayne responded “Three,” before clarifying his remark for Westwood, who thought the rapper meant he’d gotten three women pregnant at the same time.

“I mean [I'll have] three sons,” he explained.

When Wayne was asked if Nivea was expecting, he responded, “Yessir.”

The casual announcement was similar to Wayne’s confirmation of London’s pregnancy, which he also revealed during a radio interview, with Los Angeles’ Power 106.

Rumors of Nivea’s pregnancy have been rampant for months (the singer and former husband The-Dream filed for separation in December of 2007), but no official comment emerged. In a recent clip that appeared online, a visibly pregnant Nivea participated in a baby shower — judging by appearances, the baby is due soon.

A representative for Lil Wayne had no comment when contacted by MTV News; a rep for Nivea was unable to be reached at press time.

The baby will be Lil Wayne’s fourth child, although information about the children and their mothers is sparse.
