    DJ DON CANNON
    THE BEGINNING:

In the continued struggle to step above the rest, Fli Pelican’s creator, Nino, set forth a goal to capture the ears and hearts of people that truly wanted to hear and passionately feel a change in street wear. With influences such as Staple, Crooks and Castles, and The Hundreds; Nino found himself designing, not for consumer purposes, but for the sheer satisfaction of himself. “Fli Pelican” embodies the meaning that mentally one can possess wings to become superior to others and have the ability to fly 2Birds One Pelican.JPGaway from any dire situation; only if, one focuses and puts GOD first. The Pelican symbolizes ordinary people—not flashy, but yet striking to the eye. This is why the logo is very sentimental to me; everything around me is festive and flashy, while I embody the ordinary guy in the middle.”

    THE STORY:

The whole theme of the clothing line is comic-book based and revolves around a Pelican who gets the most respect, but is your ordinary “Joe”. The story contains many elaborate characters that are featured on each shirt, whom play a part in the everyday life of the Pelican. Each shirt will accompany a sticker to be saved for an upcoming comic book, whose date has not been determined. When all of the characters finally meet, the consumer will control the story with the collected items that he/she has purchased.

    CLOSE:

In closing, we do not consider our line commercial or “Pop” and we would not like to be portrayed in that manner. We like being underground, which gives us the ability to touch and hear from all of our consumers at any point in time. This is one reason why we focus on the fashionable and target staying “Exclusive”—out of the reach of the world and in short grasp of the “Selected.”

If you haven’t heard let me school you to Heritage Clothing & Youtheary Khmer. The inspiration for this fabulous fashion came from Theary Sim and the experience she gained while modeling. Theary Sim always loved fashion, but realized early that playing with cloths and creating elaborate designs was more fun for her than actually being in front of the camera.

So what can you expect from these wonderful lines. Well the Heritage line is trendy and ready to wear line geared towards every fashion conscious man and woman. Heritage was inspired in name and purpose from Theary’s deep connection with her late father.  She was inspired to create a name that was significant to her background and her father always taught her to be proud of where she came from and it has guided her success by the strength of her Heritage.

Now, the Youtheary Khmer line is a different approach to formal dresses. Ms. Sims uses the most vibrant and abstract shapes and colors to create a scene of movement in her designs. She wants “each and every woman to feel as if each has a gown that was designed specifically for her.” Youtheary Khmer is “for women that wants to walk out the door and make a statement it can span from the everyday black cocktail with a twist to a geometric temptress on the rocks.” Youtheary Khmer was created in 2008 and this collection is more based runway and high fashion designs. According to Theary the Fabulous she was “able to expand my creativity and create whimsical silhouettes that really capture the essence of woman’s beauty.”

Swiped directly from FSD, but what can I say I’m not in the Chi right now….buy Ye did drop the Air Yeezy’s this weekend in the Chi so….

People didn’t know how to act this weekend when the Air Yeezy’s finally hit shelves in Chicago. It felt like it was 1996 and the Air Jordan 11’s just dropped. People were camped out in front of spots like St. Alfred’s, Leaders, Succezz and Nike Town, for hours, even days trying to get their hands of a pair. In fact, only 220  were available in the Midwest, and I heard that some people were thirsty enough to drop over $500 on them.  Yikes. Here, Davy Greenberg takes an in-depth look in his documentary, Air Yeezy: Beyond the Hype.

But wait, before you can really appreciate the fashion that is Chilly-O you must visually experience the lifestyle involved with inspiring the designs. You must understand that we aren’t fronting we actually live this lifestyle, we BMX, skate, motocross all that encompasses Chilly-O says Chill the Owner and CEO of Chilly-O. As a matter of fact you can even see Chill himself appearing in Antenna Magazine airing out a half-pipe for a Chilly-O ad Chilly-O.

School Of ILL was given a behind the scenes preview of the “early 90’s, more animalistic, warrior” based designs that encompass the fall line of Chilly-O. Below are the models Mister Friday & the lovely Paula Michelle Gomez which both did they thing, along with a guess appearance by J.O.N.
